Trojan T-105 or T-105 RE GC battery.

.

Bought our 1800RB in the fall of 2017. Did some camping in 2018 and did a lot of fixing, changing and upgrading also.

One of the upgrades was a two panel, 200 watt solar system hooked up to the original 12 volt battery. Worked fine, most of our camping is/will be dry so like everyone else I am looking for more.

This year I will be going to two Trojan 6 volt GC batteries. I already have a dual (end to end) poly battery box I bought from my RV dealer so now I am on the hunt for the batteries. And before you suggest Costco, in Canada they do not carry GC batteries.

From everything I have read on various forums the Trojan's appear to be good.
I have found people using both T-105 and T-105 RE. The RE stands for renewable energy and are a bit taller, weigh 5 pounds more and have a 5 year instead of a 18 month warranty.

Does anyone have experience with the T-105 RE in a RV application ?

Yes, we have used the T-105 in the past. I am going to wait a year or two to replace our group 24's on this current, 2018 trailer. I am unaware of the designation of RE. The T-105s I have used were all taller than the usual group 24, 27 or 31. I used taller, replacement battery boxes. In the past, I have purchased from a Golf Cart dealer. He gave me the same price as if I were buying a change out for our golf cart. I have also heard, second hand, that the Duracell GC battery from Samsclub or Walmart was a good battery. Good luck!

We have the Duracell GC2 batteries in our Cougar. We bought them in 2013 and they are still going strong. Duracell also has a EC2 battery that is the same "footprint" and is about 2" taller than the GC2. Specs for both are:

EGC2: COST: $ 130 each
•20 amp hour rate: 230
•5 amp hour rate:174
•6 amp hour rate: 178
•Battery electrolyte composition: acid
•Battery end type: top post
•Battery purpose: deep cycle
•BCI group size: GC2
•Freight class: 65
•Minutes at 25 amps: 448
•Minutes at 75 amps: 120
•Terminal type: DIN
•Volts: six

GC2: COST: $90 each
•20 amp hour rate:215
•5 amp hour rate:157
•6 amp hour rate:156
•Battery Electrolyte Composition:Acid
•Battery End Type:Top Post
•Battery Purpose: Deep Cycle
•BCI Group Size:GC2
•Contents:ONE EACH
•Freight Class:65
•Minutes at 25 amps:395
•Minutes at 75 amps:105
•Terminal Type: DIN
•Volts:6

I am satisfied with the performance of the Duracell brand Golf Cart batteries that I have. I couldn't justify the extra expense ($40 each for a total of $80 for the pair) when I bought mine 5 years ago. Several times I've considered upgrading to a 4 battery system, but haven't done it yet. If I do, I may consider the larger batteries, even though buying 4 would equal the cost of buying 6 GC2 batteries.
