Canadian version of Honda EU2000

IS it news to anyone that the Canadian version of the EU2000 is different from the US and cannot be joined to another EU2000?

Went to the local Honda store (not cars, but generators, bikes, outboard etc.) to look at picking up a companion. Was told point blank they are not sold in the Canadian market and that even if I did pick one up in the US, it would not work with the one I already have. He pointed out mine won't have the connections to plug the companion into.

I kinda shrugged it off (not always trusting saledroids) but after looking at mine and comparing it to pictures on the web, I am missing the plug ins for the dual setup. It's the two plugs next to the eco switch. I don't have them on mine.

Was a surprise to me. Apparently Honda never got CSA approval for it in Canada (same as the US UL listing)
