Brand new to the world of camping
Introduction: I am from Massachusetts, getting in retirement mode (a few years left in the office) and my wife and I are beginning to throttle it back and plan out our tour of North America. So, the only way to learn the art of camping is buy a 2016 travel trailer like a Cougar x-lite 30rli, read a ton of articles and watch countless YouTube videos. So far so good. Still learning but just on minute issue with the black water hose.
I am towing my 2016 Cougar x-lite 30rli with a 2015 Toyota Tundra. I added a set of Supersprings SS A4 to the leaf springs which gave it about 2" in height. The Tundra has plenty of power and the springs give it just the right support.
One thing about the 30rli; it like a condo inside.

I'm going to have to agree with canesfan, you just, maybe might have a few weight police chomping on your butt soon
If you haven't done it already install some vented rotors on your truck. I did and trust me on this it makes a world of difference when you're going downhill.

Welcome to the forum! Hope you have great times camping! Oh no!.....
"Here they come, walking down the street, the ones that you wait for, they're the weight police......" I don't think of myself as that but I do think knowing your weights is critically important when towing large trailers.
I know you love the truck, trailer combo but just think about a few things since you are new to Rving (as were most of us) and weights DO mean a lot.
Your Tundra has a max tongue weight of 980 lbs. Your trailer has a dry hitch weight of 1055 lbs. and a gvw of 9500. So, fully loaded your hitch could be as high as 1425. Overloaded. Max tow of the truck is 10k so you could be right at the limit. Payload is 15-1600 lbs. so if the trailer is fully loaded you have no room for anything (people, tools, doggies, toys etc.) after you drop the trailer on. Even if you don't put ANYTHING in/on the trailer (LP/water etc.) you will barely have enough payload for a couple of folks and a small puppie.
Those are just for starters. Not trying to ruin the excitement of the new trailer but just trying to get you on board on how weights play into the towing experience. I'm sure it "'pulls" it just fine, and I'm sure the additional springs made the ride "feel" better, but neither will keep the receiver from breaking off your truck and sending the trailer careening across the highway or keep an axle from breaking. Just do some research. Search this forum about weights. I've been there and done that....just want you to be as informed as you can be.
