Day/Night shades come in various colors to fit many decorator schemes. Keystone doesn't use day/night shades on most of their units, electing to use only the "night" half of the shade. The "night" half has the same "obscuring" capability in both types. The color ranges from "dark to light" depending on the decor of the unit. It's sort of like choosing white or alabaster or brown mini-blinds, all three choices block the view, but one or the other may fit the room color better.
We had day/night shades on our Holiday Rambler and never used the "day half." Some owners may, but we found it blocked the view by making the windows harder to see out. For us, the "night half" makes for less "hassle" in closing up the RV at night because we don't have to shuffle the "day half" up and down to get to what we use.
