Stainless Sink Rusting on 2014 Premier
We've had our 22RBPR for a little over 5 months, towed it about 3,500 miles, and slept in it about 30 nights. Love it so far, and have had no problems, except when I was loading up for our last trip, I noticed some small rust spots in the bottom of the kitchen sink where it looked like something had dripped on it from the dish drain unnoticed. I buffed most of it off, but it all came back fairly quickly. Our dealer is 90 miles away. I hate to drag it that far for something that is so far merely cosmetic, but I fear the problem will worsen over time and eventually rust through. Others have this problem?

There was a post of the same nature a while back. I'm curious, would CLR work to get the rust out? We have the same sink in our 23RB but have not had any issues "yet".

If it's still under warranty, I would have it replaced. Even though your dealer is 90 miles away, this could be your only chance. Cosmetics are important! Is it possible, though, that something dripped on it just once that could have caused the problem? Maybe magic eraser or a product specifically for stainless steel would remove it easily.

Was the sink clean and dry or did you leave anything in the sink? Maybe if you send the dealer a picture they will order one and ship it to you to save you the drive in.

I have a brushed stainless bumper on a truck and during winter with salted roads it tends to get surface spots of rust. I use a light to medium Scotchbright pad with some WD40 to rub out the entire bumper. The rust spots don't come back and the bumper looks like new. If the dealer doesn't satisfy, you might want to try the above treatment.
Stainless doesn't proliferate with rust like mild steel, so this might just be a one time occurrence with exposure to whatever caused it.

There were a couple of spots that looked like drops had sat there. I think I'll try the buff with WD-40 method and watch it. Thanks folks!

I started a post about my sink rusting. What I did was, clean it with a soft scotch brite pad and then applied SS polish. Since I did that, no more rust issues.

Good to hear! I hand buffed mine with some 000 steel wool and WD-40. There are a still a couple of tiny pits, but overall looks pretty good. I'll pay attention from now on. SS polish is an excellent suggestion. I didn't really know there was such a thing.
