Unhappy Ignitors and furnace not working on Laredo 2013 MK240

Hello,

We own a 2013 Laredo MK240. We tried to start the furnace and nothing...no sound, no spark, nothing. We checked the stove to make sure the propane was working, the ignitor clicked but no spark. Lit the stove with a lighter and that worked.

We checked the furnace fuse and it is fine. Everything else is working....

Anyone have an idea???

We're at a loss and really can't afford to take it in...

Welcome to the forum! Lot's of furnace problems this time of year.

What kind of access do you have to your furnace? Outside cover or buried under a cabinet?

If you're getting absolutely nothing from the furnace when you set the thermostat to call for heat I would start tracing power. You said that the fuse is good so I would start to check power at the furnace.

With access to the furnace you can pull the blue wires and jump the pins to see if the furnace spins up. Or perhaps you can access the blue wires from the back of the thermostat and jump them there. The idea is to bypass the system to get power directly to the furnace as a troubleshooting method. The blue wires come from a relay of some sort in the AC unit and that can be faulty. I know next to nothing about those connections so hopefully one of the Chucks will chime in with additional advice.

I would also check the power at the wiring harness to the furnace to confirm a solid 12v connection there.

Once you've confirmed whether or not your furnace will run with direct power then more specific troubleshooting can happen. Maybe a bad relay or faulty thermostat.

That's where I'd start. Others may have a simpler approach.

Welcome to the forum

What make and model of furnace? On some there is an on/off switch at the furnace that can be tripped not allowing anything to happen.

My question was moved to 5th wheel when it is a pull behind. The furnace is located under the refrigerator. Can only see the back of the furnace.

Unfortunately that will likely mean having to pull the furnace out and bench-testing the systems.

If your battery voltage is the 10 volt range, the furnace will not function. Start your problem solving by confirming you have a charged battery. Even if you are plugged into shore power, doesn’t guarantee you’ll have a charged battery. Don’t assume anything
