outback rear bed slide seals

one of the outside seals on the my rear bed slide has torn at the top, think it is from the cable that goes through it to the top, maybe 4-5 inches

the shop I use for sealing the roof said the whole slide had to come out to replace this?

that seems crazy
is there anyway to glue that piece back together?

any info or suggestions from others who have had to do this repair would be appreciated

We have had limited success using crazy glue. We replace sweeper seals on slides all the time without removing them. The cables run through small holes that you will have to make, and in your case you might just cut a notch and then glue the cover piece Back on.

thanks chuckster
trying to add a pic here

looking at it , it does not look like it tore at the cable but next to it, not sure why they said that, although I guess you have to get the cable through a new one

Yikes, I have a 2014 230TRS, and hope I don't have to remove the slide to replace seals.
