I had one of these (21k) installed on my truck back in march and I love it. So easy to hook and unhook.

I have the 16K model....Love it!!...Easy to use and doesnt stick up over the bed so it is out of sight when not in use.

Forgot to mention that too! I have a roll n lock cover on the truck and it will close over the hitch no problem

I've the 20k model as well. Could have gone with a 16k, but opted for the swiveling rubber mount and love it. It breaks into two manageable parts to remove and replace as well. Great hitch.

Had it 3 years and works great. Also have Roll N Lock truck bed cover. Height adjustment is fairly easy, even for an old guy like me. 4 bolts and Sears torque wrench and 20 minutes. My initial set up was a little too low on my first trip. Dealer was 2 hours south in Atlanta traffic. RV store wanted 1 hour labor minimum. Did it myself. Use the lunricated disc pad for the hook up and tube grease from Wally World ( they have a cheap combo of mini gun and tubes ) and I lube it 2 x a year in 10 minutes. Remember, mine is covered 100% of time when not hooked and towing. I do not use my truck bed for any other purpose as I have a folding motorcycle trailer which acts for multi purpose.

I also have the Curt 16K. It's been a great hitch. Our new truck has the Ford underbed hitch system, so the Reese hitch adapter is on order and should be here tomorrow. I plan to keep using the Curt 16K. It's been "flawless" so far.

One suggestion, regardless of what hitch you choose, Paint the bottom flange of your kingpin orange and paint the jaws/locking bar on your hitch white. That way you can very easily see if you're "high hitched" It's hard to see clearly in the shade while peeking through the tailgate whether the pin flange is below the jaws. Seeing orange below the white is much easier to verify on a sunny day.

If Reese says they fit industry standard rails, they should.
I have a Curt 20k sitting on a B&W turnover ball gooseneck hole. Great so far, but its my first 5th wheel.

I just bought the Curt Q5 20K 5th wheel hitch and have one dumb question. I was in a hurry and had the guys put the hitch in my truck (which has the Ford factory 5th wheel prep) and left as I had to get home. I hooked it up today and had no issues but the question I have is about the lube points. Are their any grease fittings that you attach a grease gun to or just put some grease to the areas according to the manual?

I'm coming from a Pullrite Superglide so unfamiliar with the maintenance on the Curt and just want to make sure I'm doing everything correctly, thanks.

They should have given you a plastic "kingpin". Use it to close the hitch like you are hooked to your trailer. Then you can get to the grease zerk. From memory...I think you look in the plastic kingpin and you will see the zerk. Insert the gun through the pin, I think. I'm obviously overdue to grease mine.
Mine bounced around on my workbench for months. I almost threw it away several times.

Yes, they did give me the plastic kingpin so I'll take a close look at it tomorrow and make sure I grease everything good. We've been in Magnolia for about a year and a half and lived in the Woodlands for about 11 years. I had been wanting to move for a long time as I wasn't a fan of the Woodlands. I don't think my neighbors were fans of me pulling my 5th wheel in front of the house and the dirt bikes, power washers, etc. I had some good neighbors but they were about as opposite of me as you can get, doubt they'd ever been camping a day in their life, hardly got outdoors period.

Gearhead, where do you like to camp? We go to Lake Livingston every few months, fairly close and really like it there.

Lake Livingston State Park is pretty good. We went to Martin Dies State Park before the holidays. Enjoyed that. The south "unit" looked the best. We also do auto racing...NASCAR and USAC...Eldora Speedway in Ohio, Richmond and Bristol NASCAR this year. We want to do Indy500 this year too. We have used Coushatta casino in Louisiana as a base for genealogy research as well. Decent campground, casino food is mediocre.
I retired 5 years ago but still work some projects, mostly out of town. I should just give it up and be retired.
I can imagine the reaction of the Woodlands neighbors. We have restrictions but we all just use common sense, so far. I have a double lot with plenty of room and keep the 5th behind the privacy fence in the backyard. About everyone has a boat or RV behind or beside their house.

Good thing where I am now is that almost everyone has an RV it seems so it's never an issue with anyone and my neighbors are great. My 5th wheel only stays in the driveway for a night or two and only every few months when we use it and just to clean it or pack it up before we leave for a trip. I keep it in an enclosed storage unit but wish I had my own garage to store it. Guy across the street from me recently built a huge garage to store his Class C in.

I want to take my trailer to Tennessee soon as that is where I am from and moved here from Franklin, TN. All of my family lives near Nashville or about an hour east of Nashville. Bristol race is cool, beautiful area. There are several parks I want to visit in Texas but I really like the full hookups with two kids. We fill the waste tanks pretty quick.

I go back and forth between buying a cheap lot in the ghetto and building a barn, building a Carolina Carport in my backyard, and doing nothing. I'm back to doing nothing; today. I'm sure a barn is against my restrictions and a carport may be. I have a neighbor that had a offshore boat with a t-top under a tall carport, in his backyard. I don't think anyone ever said anything.
We're overdue for a stopover in Gallatin, TN. My folks were there for awhile about 1800 before they went to Louisiana. Pretty country up there.
I would get on Texas Parks & Wildlife website and see which parks have full hook ups. A few do.

I ordered my 14' RAM 3500 SRW with the "in bed hitch prep", but had to get a picture frame adapter to use my Husky 16K hitch because no one had the in bed hitch yet. As soon as Curt had theirs available, I got the 16K head and in bed legs. What a great hitch and easy to hook up. I am level enough at an RV site so I do not have to unhook for a short stay. I can easily get it out of and into the bed by myself with an overhead winch in the garage. Using the adapter and hitch combo was a bear to get them out separately. Much heavier as well. I still have the Husky hitch and adapter if anyone is interested.

You have two other zerks, one on each side that you access through openings under the rubber hitch pad. They should have stickers pointing them out. They grease the pins for the pawls that lock around the kingpin. I can't remember if the hitch needs to be open or closed with the plastic kingpin to access them. You'll just have to check it each way and see.
