219BH Passport

My 2023 Passport is pre wired for an inverter. The wire loop which looks like a 12/2 romex under the cover. Is the intent when installing an inverter to cut that loop find the end that comes from the battery and connect to battery posts on inverter?
Then connect the other end to AC OUT of the converter?

Welcome to the forum

The romex loop is for the 120VAC. When you cut it the “LIVE” end goes to the AC IN and the other end goes to the AC OUT. The battery in will require cables that you make using the proper gauge wire from the battery to the 12VDC in.

You are mostly correct. I suggest a pass-through or auto-transfer inverter,

With all power off, cut the Romex, then separate the wires and make sure they are away from anything they could short out on. Turn the power back on, then find which end is "live". That end goes into the AC-In on the inverter. The other end connects to AC-Out. Then using the correct gauge wire, connect the inverter to the batteries.

So if connected to shore power I should use a meter to see which one is hot when loop is cut. The other end should connect to inverter out. Is that correct?

Thank you.
The so called expert at camping world couldn’t answer that question but wanted $500 for labor to install an inverter

You don’t need a meter, just use this:
