St. Andrews State Park .... Panama City, Florida

Henderson Beach State Park .... Destin, Florida

Grayton Beach State Park ... Santa Rosa Beach FL

Gulf Shores State Park ... Alabama

If you are looking for long-term stay, these ARE state parks, mostly limited to 14 days stay usually.

Are you looking at running straight N from Tampa headed back to AL or are you thinking of going thru the FL panhandle enroute? Crystal River has some and there are a couple at Cedar Key but kinda tight....but sort of cool. Any specifics?

We had a nice (though brief) stay at Doc's RV Park in Gulf Shores. As I recall, they are cash-only, which is why they had spaces when none of the other parks did.

We have stayed at Encore Crystal Isles in Crystal River many times, a few days at a time. Since Encore entered the scene it has become a little pricey.

I was going to suggest Florida Caverns over in Jackson County, but I just learned from the owner, Erwin Jackson, that it got hit by a tornado this morning around 6:30. He had literally just finished the rebuilding of the RV park from damage incurred from the hurricane in 2018. He said he wrote the last check for the renovations on Monday.

5 people went to the hospital and several others were injured but no deaths. If you have a Facebook account look up Erwin Jackson and you can see photos of the damage. It looks pretty bad.

Erwin said that all this damage occurred in about 3 minutes!

A bit further south of Sarasota in Nokomis Florida is another Encore property called Royal Coachman Resort. It is a mix of park models and RV sites. It is also a bit pricy and they prefer a minimum of 1 month stays but will consider shorter term if they have open sites.

Coastline Rv park in Eastpoint is nice but expensive. Easy drive to St George Island and Apalachicola. Great seafood in the area. We're heading a little farther west in February to Presnell's in Port St Joe. Will be there a month.

I echo recommendations for Grayton Beach and Gulf Shores State Parks, as well as Coastline. My favorites, starting in Tampa, are

Margaritaville in Auburndale
Sun Outdoors RV Resort in Panama City Breach
Destin West RV Resort in Fort Walton Beach
Luxury RV Resort in Gulf Shores (this really isn't a "luxury" park, just really convenient to riding trails, beach and ice cream!)

We just did a week stay at Perdido Key RV resort & Marina between Christmas and New years. Was a small park, but very clean and full of super nice people! Close to lots of things to do, good restaraunts and only 6-7 miles from the Florabama which always has good entertainment.

Dutchmensport identified several state parks. Don’t forget Topsail Hill Preserve State park! They have their own beach on the Gulf and 16 miles of hiking trails! Beautiful!

If you want to try the Panama City Beach area, a brand new KOA just opened on US 98.

There are other RV parks in PCB - Pine Glen, Racoon River are two near where I live. Pine Glen is very nice.
