Hi, new Laredo owner.

Hi everyone, my name is Mike and i just got a new 2010 Laredo 310RE which I`m pulling with a `09 Ford F-150 Crewcab. I live in Eastern Canada in beautiful New Brunswick. I`m actually about 10 minutes from the Maine border and plan to vacation in that state in August. Hope I have a few stories to tell here in the near future but till then, Ciao!

Welcome to the forum Mike! Hope you enjoy your RV as much as we love ours. Mike I have to ask, that's a mighty heavy 5ver for a 1/2 ton truck, how does it pull? The empty weight of the hitch is over 1700lbs if I'm looking at the correct 5ver.

Flyguy,

No problems hauling the RV from the dealer to my house, but I'm thinking of getting airbags installed till I change my truck for a SuperDuty in a couple of years. I'll be mostly staying locally so there shouldn't be any problems, at least I hope so. My owners manual says I can pull 11,100 lbs and the RV weights 10100 lbs, so I know I'm cutting it pretty close.

Mike

Red face

Just came back from my first outing with the 5'ver 3 weeks ago, and pulling it with my F-150 was an experience. I did not feel comfortable so I added a set of airbags and this week-end's outing things were a lot better. The next thing I'm changing are the tires for Michelin LT's. but I think I definitely got a bigger 5'ver than my truck can handle so I'll keep my trips local until I get a SuperDuty in the next couple of years. I guess I'm learning the hard way....

"A man's got to know his limitations." And his truck's too. Enjoy your 5'ver and keeping it local is a wise decision. Travel safely, Hank

Finally out on my real vacation with the 5'ver and after getting 4 new E rated tires in addition to the Ride Rite airbags, the 400 mile trip to southern Maine was a nice change to the 2 previous trips. The trip was made without any snags or problems. The only thing is I got myself a couple of stowaways in the form of 2 young squirrels!! They made their way in the space where the holding tanks are but they have access to the cupboards under the sink. My wife almost had a heart attack when she saw one under the sink this morning, so I got a few rat traps and put them under the RV and I am waiting for I hope are fast results.... I'll keep you posted to the results of my hunting expedition.....

Later!

Mike

Finally caught one of the waskals and haven't heard from the other one in 2 days, probably left for the woods nearby but just in case, the traps are still set with some Nutella as bait. Also put some expanding foam in all openings under the sink and in the bathroom. All I need to do now is wait a few days and use the spray foam in all outside openings under the RV.
That's it for now but stay tuned for the further adventures of the Beatty family!

Later!!

Finally changed my Towing Vehicle!

Finally bit the bullet and changed my F150 for a Super Duty. Got a pretty good deal from my Ford dealer and finally convinced my wife, though she's not to crazy about the harsher ride. At least she understands the safety aspect of why I wanted to trade.

First, a pic of the old, and then a few pics of the new!
