New camper owners, check your AC unit!

We bought our new Cougar aprox. 10 months ago and it has been on 3 camping trips, two local and one long distance. Well I just install an additional front AC unit and after getting it installed and tightened down I noticed a couple of days later that the unit "settled in" and the bolts were really loose. Anyway I decided to check the factory AC unit and 3 of the 4 bolts were finger tight and I could slip a credit card between the roof and the gasket! I tightened down all 4 bolts and now the AC is solid. I think the gasket continues to compress and the bolts become loose and this will create a huge disaster if not found early. Easy to check, just remove the interior cover and look for the 4 bolts at the corners and check them.

In a previous 5er we once had a lot of water coming in around the AC unit during a rain storm. When I investigated, the unit was loose and the gasket was not sealing. Tightened everything down and no more leaks. Makes me wonder how much it was moving while in transit.
