5th wheel help please

I have a 2006 keystone copper canyon And on the right side ft side on the outside the fiberglass panel is coming out of its bottom channel. It has raised up about 1/8 of a inch out of the channel for about 8 inches.
Please see picture. If anyone can tell me why this happen and how to repair please reply.
thank you,

I'm sure other members will chime in with their assessment, but if I were you, I would be looking very seriously at a broken frame member or a cracked weld in the elevated structure of the frame. It looks like the pinbox raises the front of the frame when it is hitched and the weight of the frame pulls it back down (separating the sidewall) when unhitched.

I think you have a frame problem not a sidewall problem. It could be very serious and affect the integrity of towing your trailer if the frame should separate and drop the pinbox. I wouldn't trust it in this condition.

You might try contacting Keystone by email (include all of your photos) and see what their response is. Since your warranty has long expired, you may be out of luck but it is worth a try.
In the meantime, you might consider taking it into a nearby RV repair facility and get them to have a look at it. Either that or have someone come out and take a look at it. I wouldn't be going too far however since it does look like a frame issue. Is there a mobile RV person in your area?

Just another theory .... Has this area come in contact with your bedrail during a tight turn over rough ground or a steep driveway??????

If you do suspect the frame you might also want to try contacting Lippert since they made the frame and will know if there has been problems on your model.

Have to agree with the above posts. A test you can try without taking your 5er out of the driveway. Hitch your TV to your 5er and then carefully retract the landing gear. If the gap becomes smaller, then, the frame is flexing (as in cracked or broken) If it doen't change, maybe the trim is loose? Good luck and be safe!
