outdoor freezing temperature alarm

What are others doing to get an alert in the middle of the night if temps drop close to or below freezing? All the weather stations I've found (ie. AcuRite) that do any sort of alerting run on AC with only limited battery backup power options. I'd love to find something wired to the RV DC/battery that I can turn on at night when needed.

I haven't tried any of them, but here is a list of recommended temperature sensors and apps with alert monitoring: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...=1559326596162

When I'm boondocking in the late fall here in upstate NY I just turn on "Current Location" in my Acuweather app and check the hourly forecast in the afternoon. With my Bullet 220RBI I really only took "extra precautions" if the forecast was for overnight lows below the mid twenties, but I don't have a fresh water hose to worry about. With the "heated" enclosed underbelly the holding tanks are good in the upper 20s as long as you are using the furnace and not supplementing with electric heaters. I do open cabinet doors and remove the access panel under the shower to help get warm air to the plumbing lines, hot water lines tend to freeze faster than cold. The outside shower is another place to keep an eye on. I seldom use it, so i take the hose and shower head off and make sure they are completely drained early in the fall.

I ended up getting an "Eastern Edition" Passport purely because of the longer awning. It does not have the enclosed underbelly. I assumed that was a nearly worthless feature after looking at the cheap material used to enclose the underside and imagining how terrible the ducting might have been installed for even distribution. I might have to revisit installing this myself based on your experience.

Choosing a trailer is always a balancing act between trade offs. Coroplast itself does have a minimal R value (.078 x thickness in mm), the hear transfer reduction curve is steepest at the lowest R values. And I think it's biggest advantage is creating a dead air space. Also, since I re-sealed all the gaps around penetrations (sewer pipes, etc) with foam and the edges with aluminum tape I haven't had a single mouse (knock on wood).
