New campers from Alberta
Hi, this is going to be our first season camping! We bought a red, GMC Sierra truck and a 26 RLS Hideout trailer. My husband is visually impaired so I'm the designated driver and he gets the job of set up and take down (includes the task of the sewer [emoji13] ). I've had some AMA lessons and we took it 15 minutes out for a "shakedown" trip for 2 nights. So much fun! Last I remember was tenting 10 years ago! Still nervous about backing into a site. Storage has nice wide lanes and no trees! 😁. I suppose it gets better with practice. Looking forward to the future when we can retire and do more traveling!

Welcome to the forum from eastern Nebraska. Don't let backing up scare you out of having a great time. Personally I prefer pull thru sites. Enjoy your new way of camping.

Cheryl welcome to the driving/towing part of camping. Living in Calgary you will obviously be coming into the mountains here in BC. Word of caution when climbing over these big rocks slow up and slow down. Gearing down makes it much easier. I'm sure you will be fine. Good luck.

Cheryl - welcome from Central Florida. Don't sweat the backing up thing. You'll get the hang of it eventually. Gotta say that, as an ex-OTR owner operator, some of the best drivers I've seen in really tight back up to the dock maneuvers have been our ladies of the road. Best of luck and keep practicing!

Welcome to the forum from Southern MD. A friend has a TT similar to yours and loves it. Don't let the backing up worry you. There are always plenty of people willing to help in campgrounds. Some sites are worse than others. You can always ask for a different one if it's too tough. When backing put your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel and move it the direction you want the back of the trailer to go. Have fun and enjoy roasting marshmallows after your DH gets it all set up.

Just remember that the leading cause of divorce for camping couples is reversing😜
Seriously remember the back up a trailer trick of putting your hand at the BOTTOM of the steering wheel. When the guider calls out right move your hand to the right and the TV and trailer will go in the correct directions. Same for left.

Welcome to the forum! Don't worry about the backing. Remember practice, practice, practice. You can always try to find pull thrus until you get comfortable. Happy camping!
