Hello from Washington State!

Hello forum members!

New to the forum but not to RVing. Started 15 years ago, been through 2 bumper pulls and on my third fifth wheel - second Cougar, a 2008 278RKS. Last one was a 2002 Cougar 244EFS. Had 7 different tow vehicles - 6 of them GM pickups. Current one is an Imperial Blue 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LTZ extended cab "standard" (78") bed with 6.0L gas and 3.73 final gear on the 6 speed tranny. I use a Pullrite 3300 Superglide hitch.

I'm lucky that my "new" wife of 2+ years loves camping as well. We mostly have stayed in the Washington, Oregon, northern California area but are looking to range further into British Columbia and further east and south later this year. After that I would love to talk her into a 'round-the-country RV trip, but that would take some finessing to cover our duties here at home for that long!

I am an ex-mechanic and service manager as well as a 21 year veteran of Boeing IT - now retired.

Hope to see some of you in future threads!

Dave & Donna -
Welcome to the forum from your neighbor to the north. I see you have the same model and year of Cougar 5th wheel as we do and hope that you get as much enjoyment from yours as we have from ours.

Welcome aboard and have fun. You beat me with 7 trucks in 15 years and 5 trailers. Although I have had 3 trucks in 5 years I have only had 6 trailers in 25 years. Good luck.

Hi Festus2! Later this year we plan on going north through Abbotsford, then following Rt. 1 north through the Fraser Valley and over to Kamloops and beyond. It looks like there are many interesting towns and scenic areas to visit!

Have you made many changes to your Cougar or found out anything interesting about it to pass on? We just bought ours used a month ago and have already been down to Eureka, California and back up the Oregon coast. Really enjoy it so far!

from a neighbor in Enumclaw. Would love to hear some of your recommended spots in WA and Oregon. We are still newbies, staying mostly in western WA.

We plan to head that way this year. Also would like some good advice about places to stay and things to do in northern Oregon and Washington.
