5th Wheel Stablizers

All,

I am getting ready to install stablizers on my 5th. Before I decide on the right ones, I thought I would ask this advanced RV'rs a question or two.

My 5th has an coroplast? underbelly. In order to secure the system in place requires drilling into the frame. What is the best way to accomplish this with ripping apart the underbelly?

Besides the SteadyFast, what are some other options?

Thank you,
Fred

I don't use any, but I know several friends who are very happy with the JT Strong Arm Stabilizer System

JT strong arm gets my vote also. I installed mine several weeks ago. I only had to trim the coroplast in two places the size of two quarters.
When I get home if I remember I'll crawl under it a snap a couple pix.

You are the best! So, I take it you secure the brackets with the coroplast in between?

Thank you Sir!

No, there is no coroplast between the frame rail and the bracket.

I drilled the holes and let the bolts hold the bracket in place then traced around the bracket with a razor blade. Then removed the bolts and brackets and pulled the cut coroplast out of the way then re-installed the brackets and bolts.
Here ia a pic of the front on both sides where I had to cut/notch out the coroplast. Plus a pic of the front center.

There is already a very extensive thread that is currently running on stabilizer systems. Try searching for it to read all the responses.

When I installed mine, I located the frame behind the coroplast and then drilled right through. I did not cut it away but just bolted the brackets down on top of the plastic. It compressed completely and I don't believe it will ever be a problem.
