Digital thermostat issues

Today the Dometic stat decided to quit working in the furnace mode. When I set the temp nothing happens. This morning the temp was in the low fifties. The inside temp when pushed shows -5 degrees! Not hardly with the fireplace running. Looks like another run back to the dealer for more warranty work.

Do a factory reset I don't recall what butons to push but the manual tells you. Probably confused it somehow. I've done that a few times

Thanks, I found the manual. I did the reset and will try the furnace tonight.

Good at least let us know if it works. The thermostats seem a bit buggy so I have had to reset 3-4 times at least

The reset seemed to work for the stat. The inside temp is reading normal. The outside temp still has issues which the dealer will resolve as soon as the parts arrive. I noticed yesterday when we had an 80 degree day that the main a/c will only run for about 30 seconds then the compressor shuts off. Looks like another warranty issue...sigh!

The issue with the fan caused the compressor to shut down on high head pressure. We shall see with mine. The dealer has the rig now to replace outside air probe and compressor board.

Sorry to hear about the problems I couldn't be happier with mine. tomorrow it's supposed to be 83 but 47 tonight. So I'll just keep it at 68 and thats what it'll be when I get home. I tried to program it once but really didn't care that much after dealinf with 2 -20 data aqusition systems all day and a couple of websites the brain goes numb

Well, the saga continues on the Dometic stat issues. The dealer received the new parts last week(new control board and temp sensor) and installed them. The outdoor sensor still reads 15 degrees! With much egg on their face the dealer is looking at the data cable(stat wire?) as the culprit. They installed a temporary new wire and it works. Now they are waiting for Dometic to approve the new warranty work. I will post what the dealer finds out and what the final fix is. At this rate I will have a new rv one piece at a time in a few years! Sigh...

Well the Alpine came home today after two weeks at the dealership. The parts that were changed included air temp sensors, control boards and a data cable. I understand there was much time spent with Keystone and Dometic tech support with allot of tough questions. Now the outside air temp reads correctly for the first time. And yes it is important due to the heat pump. We will go camping this weekend and will try everything out. Hoping this is the end of this nightmare!

So the sensor is on the roof under the cover?? Doesn't seem like a good place but I can't really think of a good place either

We got back from our trip to Fort Stevens S.P. and to my surprise, everything worked perfectly! The heat pump and thermostat all worked. The black tank flushed worked. The only downside was the rain for two days. The dw and I are looking forward to many trips this summer including Yosemite.

Looks like I'm having similar problems with mine. It seems around midnight the t stat goes haywire and shuts the a/cs off then it shows the bedroom temp around 20 degrees and it won't kick the compressor on it just blows . Tried the reset, it works for a while then the same thing again. I finally changed the clock from pm to am and it ran all night. Will take to dealer soon.

Goinbroke -

Are you running in program mode? If so, do a search on the forum for "thermostat". There is a well discussed problem with the Dometic thermostat not knowing the difference between noon - 1pm and midnight - 1am. It flips them for an hour.

I was the one that first found the noon vs midnight issue.

http://www.keystonerv.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1859

The thermostat has to be replaced along with the cards in both AC and heat pump.

We got to pick up the trailer on Friday and decided to stay near the the dealer for a few nights to check it all out. So far it all went well the first night. One more to go before we head home. They had to replace the bedroom a/c, they said the compresor was pulling to many amps and shutting down and they got with dometic and was told to replace it. So far so good I hope it stays this way.
