Cables too tight on slide out?

I've been watching some you tube videos on RV/TT maintenance and some on replacing broken slide cables. One of the videos showed tightening the slide out cables only so much, and not so much that they are "guitar string" tight. Hmmm... Mine are "guitar string" tight and I can pluck them and they vibrate. They're tight. I wonder if I should loosen them slightly? Currently I'm having no issues, all is working well, the cables and pulley system all seem to be in good shape. My Father used to say "if it ain't broke don't fix it", and I usually follow this rule, but...

Find the video made by BAL/NORCO and use that as a guide. IIRC, 1/2” of deflection is correct.

Thanks Chuck. I'll check the cables for the two finger, 1/2" +/-, tomorrow in daylight.

After checking, all the cables seem to fall within the +- 1/2" spec, but that sure feels tight.
