Slideout cable grommets

In inspecting my TT slideouts I noticed that most of grommets that retain the cables have deteriorated and fallen out. Looking on line prices for the grommets are anywhere from $.10 ea to $3.75 ea + shipping. Shipping is ridiculous for a handful of grommets. I went down to the local hardware store and looked through the specialty bins and found these 5/8 in O.D x 17/64" I.D. by 1/16" rubber shoulder grommets. They are not inexpensive at $1.75/ea but they look a lot more substantial then the original grommets and fit well so I am hopeful that they will last a lot longer. Pictures attached.

I was told that the reason my cable slide came apart because the grommet was missing and allow the cable to jump out of the bracket and jam a rollers. The Rv Tech suggested I fill the slots with silicone. I did that five years ago and it’s still holding the cables.
