14" to 15" on Passport Ultralite
Has anyone replaced their 205 75R 14 tires with 225 75R 15 tires. I have researched and it looks possible but I sure would feel better if someone has tired with no problems. The 225 is 2" bigger in Diameter and 1 inch wider. Sure would be nice to go from load C to Load E if I can. I pretty well know the
205 75R 15 will fit because it's same width and only an in bigger in Diameter.

I did just that. from etrailer,taskmaster on spoke rims 225/75/15 load range D radial. on my 29' Zeppelin, The distance between the wheel is less but not so much that my x chocks dont fit. I dont remember if I even readjusted them. I changed trucks at the same time, so not sure how much the overall improvement in towing was from the tires. Im happy with the change in tires though.Not maxing out the tires, weight wise, gives me a little more peace of mind.

Have you considered going to better rated 205/75R14 tires instead? I was hesitant to ditch our 14" alloys so I found the Kumho Radial 857s and a couple other 'D' rated 14s. The trailer rides so much better and we didn't lose any tire clearance. Just a thought.
(if our 3220 had come with steelies I might have switched to 15s as well)

One small side issue to consider if you go to a larger diameter wheel and tire is that your trailer will sit that much higher. And inch may not seem like much, but if it's a TT, you may have to adjust the hitch up to compensate. If your hitch has the room for adjustment, it's not really an issue, but if you are already the max height, you may have to purchase a different shank. (Let's not even talk about the older style ball platforms that are permanently welded to the shank.)
It will sit higher in camp as well. Stabilizer height and stair height will need to be considered. Maybe not an issue, but should be looked at before investing in new wheels and tires.

This would be my preference, too. No new wheels to purchase which can be a significant cost savings if you currently have alloy wheels.

Not to mention 15" wheels have a different bolt pattern than 14's, requiring new spindles as well as wheels.

yes and no, 14" bolt patterns are 5 x 4.5", 15" are 5 x 4.5" and 6 x 5.5", so the 5 bolt pattern wheels are the same.

I was going to 15" on my 2890RL but decided not to after a little measuring and thought. There just wasn't enough clearance between the tire and wheel well. It looked good until I thought about rebound on bumpy roads. And after looking closely I could see that the tires had already kissed the top of the well ever so slightly. Another inch would not work out well....
