howdy from east Texas

just found this site and I know I will need it as I am new to rv's. I recently purchased a 2014 cougar 327 5th wheel. for the time being I am pulling it with an 09 Silverado 2500 6.0. not sure if it is enough truck for it. I've been camping locally and we love it. hope to take it somewhere this summer. looking forward to learning from all of you guys.

Welcome to the forum. You've come to the right place for advice if and when you upgrade your tow vehicle, in fact it may prove to be more than you asked for.

Anyway enjoy your new trailer.

Check the weights but it most likely will be OK. If you decide to do mountains the motor will rev high as designed but will do the job. Yes, a diesel will pull it easier, but not required. Enjoy what you have and upgrade when ready-- don't feel pressured.

Welcome wingman62. Enjoy your travels. We have stayed at Mill Creek in Canton, and Jellystone north of Tyler. Enjoyed both.

ID:	10007Congratulations on your 327. I got one last year and love the layout. Pin weight lists at 1800 lbs, but Im sure with my 4 6V batts and stuff in the basement its pushing 2100 lbs.
I installed Firestone Ride rite air bags , made a world of difference. Doesn't change your Max Vehicle capacity, but the control, reduced bounce, and level attitude of your Truck is worth the 300 dollars. We love to get out there. Last year we went to Beavers Bend in SE Oklahoma, Destin (Camp Gulf) and alot of trips to our Lease outside Junction. There is just something about walking out of your rig no matter where you are and knowing wherever you are "home is there with you". A new sense of Freedom and Adventure ,Awesome !

Camp On !

Welcome to the forum from a fellow East Texan.
I have been RVing in one form or another for most of my adult life, and did not realize how little I knew about it until I joined this site. This has become my go to site for RV information.
