Made the switch to the Darkside?!?

Hello everyone! JimDogs here from the SF Bay Area of Cali. my wife and I made the move to what all my former board members refer to as "The Darkside", and I have to say I don't know why. We just took ownership of a 2007 Cougar 268RLS and this thing lets in the light. We started with a no bath pop-up, upgraded to one with a bath/shower, then we went to a 23' Tahoe Hybrid and now have the Cougar. AND WE LOVE IT!!! How nice to pull into our spot and be all set up within 20 minutes, drinks in hand, and ready to start the campfire. And since it is just me, the missus and the furry kids there is so much space.

We tow this beast with a 3/4 ton 4X4 Suburban with the 7.4 Ltr (454 C.I.) engine and it does a great job. I'll be checking in from time to time, looking for ideas on customizing and making this my own. I will enjoying reading about all of your ideas that have or haven't worked. And when I figure out how to view the pictures I'll get some great ideas.

But for now we are preparing for our next trip to Lake Camanche in the central valley.

Welcome from the east coast. If your Cougar has been maintained properly, you should get many more years of service from it. We have an '07 5er and it is as good today as when it came off the line. (except for decals ) If you check the "Forum Technical Support" section you may find answers to your picture questions. Hank

from Washington. Wondering if the "dark side" is what some people here call "glamping?" We love being able to set up and ready to relax in a short period of time and fully covered if it starts raining (which happens a lot here in western Wa.) Enjoy yourselves, and..."Welcome to the dark side "

The Dark Side---because you are already entering it: from a pop-up to a trailer--what's next? Fifth Wheel? Motor Home? You are well on the slippery slope to the DARK SIDE. LOL

When we were first married we had a dome tent, then the pop up, then the hybrid, now the 5th wheel toyhauler. My wife says this is it. I keep looking at busses.
