Ants, everywhere. I think the whole state is a big ant hill. Don't make the fire ants mad.

Seriously, be prepared to do battle to keep them out of your trailer. Borax around the tires and stabilizers,

I live west of San Antonio and never had any ants in my 5ver. Further, if you want to kill fire ants, you can buy fire ant bait in any Walmart. A sprinkle on a mound will have one of the workers take the stuff to the boss and the ants all die. Only "bugs" I have ever had to deal with are fruit fly type bugs which happen if you don't keep your garbage in a closed container. Borax? Bwhahahaha Most of the critters you have to watch out for in towns along the border are those swimming over the Rio Grande hehehe

I will say our flies don't bite. Well, the horseflies do. I didn't think I would survive the black fly bites in Ohio a few weeks ago. I held my "tenny" shoes so close to a citronella candle I burned them.
I've never been to Donna TX. I assume it has bugs like everywhere else. Or, maybe the rattlesnakes eat them.
