So getting ready to go hunting. Loaded the trailer and when i started bring in the big slide i noticed the top come i maybe 2 inches before the bottom did. So slide it all the way in and started sliding it out again same thing top moves 2 inches before the bottom.. not sure if this normal or not i dont recall seeing the slide do it before.

If anybody can shed some light on this would be great.

Thanks

That’s a bit strange since on most RV’s the slide drive mechanism is on the bottom of the slide. On ours, the bottom of the slide will start moving first a few inches before the top pops loose and moves in. I just considered it normal operation considering how big the slides are in our RV.

Some how it seems like the cable system got out of adjustment.

Maybe something you can fix on your own since your getting ready for a trip.

In my opinion, it is definitely a cable adjustment issue. I have two slides that are cable operated and the top of the slides move a bit before the bottom does, but it's not 2 inches. It's possible that either of these scenarios have happened:
1. The cables are simply out of adjustment
2. The cables have stretched a bit from normal usage and need adjustment

The post above this one has a link to the slide manual and would be a good idea to download it and save it on your computer for future reference. I downloaded and printed it out a couple of years ago and keep a printed copy of it in my trailer along with the other owners manuals for it.
