Anyone with an Everest put in a MorRyde step?

My local repair shop says their test steps didn't work as you cannot close the door.

I thought I had seen someone do it. But now Im not sure.

Anyone with an Everest put a set in ?

Thanks

It could depend a lot on the year of the trailer. I don't know how long the MorRyde steps have been out but trailers a little older are likely not built to accommodate the additional space needed at the bottom of the door.

Download the qualification sheet and do some measuring. You might need to consider something like the Torklift Glow Step which can be installed into the existing step box.

Thanks, I will try measuring and see if I can contact Mor-Ryde. Mine is a 2008. He said they had a test thing to check the door, but I might measure anyway just to make sure .

Just was hoping someone had done it

Here's their qualification chart. Too large to upload but you can download it from here.

If your looking for a more solid set other than the original steps, I would look at the Glowstep replacements. No need to put screws through your floor at the threshold and you don't need 3 feet of clearance to extend them..

I am not n employee of etrailer. and the step shown come in 4 step also if I remember right.

Additionally, the GlowStep is available as a 3 step or a 4 step system. Once you buy that, you can also buy "add on steps" singularly. That means you can make a 3 step into a 4 step or you can make a 4 step into a 5, 6, 7, etc step system simply by installing additional "single step assemblies" to the bottom of your existing GlowStep staircase.

I know a number of truck camper folks that use the system with 5 and 6 steps to access their cab-over camper doorway.

The only "limitation" to how many steps you can add is the space into which you fold them. Most trailers can easily accept a 4 step assembly, but 5 or more is "pushing the space" to the limit.

There also is a "very sturdy handrail" system available that mounts to the steps and the existing "hand rail" that's on your trailer.

While certainly "not cheap" they do make a significant improvement in stability of the steps and ease of entry with the hand rail.
