Do you sanitize your water hose?
I purchased my water hose when I purchased my first camper, about seven years ago. Should I sanitize it when sanitizing my fresh water tank as well? If so, how would I sanitize a water hose?
Thanks
Daryl

I am wondering if a solution of bleach and water that would be left standing in the hose for a time in order to sanitize it might leave a permanent taste of bleach in your hose. For the time and effort it would take to sanitize a 7 year old hose, I'd go buy a new one and use the old one for your black tank flush.

Pour some bleach and water into the hose, slosh it around, coil it up, connect both ends, leave it over night, drain and rinse. I haven't done that in awhile, usually the hose connections fall apart and I end up with a new hose before I feel the need to sanitize it.

Nope... But I grew up drinking out of the garden hose and straight out of the well spigot; so maybe I'm not a good example...

Same here. That was back in the day when Mon & Dad both worked and no one had time to protect us from all of the world's evils, and we all had to grow up.

Same here. That familiar vinyl taste. Before we knew the evils of lead paint, white bread and strangers.
We were country, when country wasn't cool....

Hose
Well, we have never sanitized our fresh hose, still kick'in after all these years.... However, sure someone will post how insane we are for not doing it.... Seriously, we do keep hoses for the fresh water supply that are only used for that purpose, we do sanitize the onboard tank yearly.

I guess I didn't completely drain my fresh water hose from last year and went to use it this season, well after I disconnected it from the camper and saw all this brown gooey stuff that must have settled in the hose over the winter...
So I will be trying to remember to sanitize the hose after use for the season....
