New Proud Trailer Trash!!

I'm the proud owner of a new 2011 Summerland 2570RL. It's currently located at Daisy Barn Campground on the sunny shores of Lake Ontario.

Currently, the plan is to stay there until mid-October, and then tow it to Florida for the winter. I'll need to find a place near Ft. Lauderdale that will let me store it while I'm not actually there. I will be staying there from the middle of October until the middle of November and then again for the month of February. On March 1, I'll bring it back north for the summer.

I'm towing it with a 2011 Ford F-150 with a 5.0L engine and trailer tow package. I've got a total of less than 20 miles on the trailer (from the dealer to the campground), so I really can't comment yet on how it tows.

I am absolutely looking forward to this new adventure. I've had very little experience with trailers. I did have a small pop-up back in the '80s when I was working construction and needed portable accomodations. This is a totally different experience. I work 12 hour shifts, so I get lots of days off. That plus the fact that the campground is only 25 minutes from my home means that I can spend a lot of time at my new little chunk of Paradise.

I'm looking forward to learning lots here. As with all forums, I know the key is to read before posting, so I'll likely lurk for a while first.

Thanks in advance,

PitCritter

Congratulations PitCritter on your new Summerland and happy to have you with us. Go ahead and lurk - we don't mind you just hanging around but will be looking forward to your posts in the near future. Enjoy your "little chunk of Paradise".

Hey, hope you like your summerland like we like ours. We have a 2980bhgs & have it on a seasonal lot here in New Brunswick. You will learn lots here, I know we did. Great forum. Have fun in your new unit.
