2014 Cougar 28RBS ac unit

Im a new owner of a 2014 Cougar xLite 28RBS. How cold should the ac unit be able to get the camper. Today we had the ac on and it had a 10 degree differential temp. It was 90 outside, the camper was around 82 inside, the air coming out of the ac unit was 72. Is this normal or does the unit need replaced. I feel like it should be colder but maybe I'm expecting too much.

From my memory that is about it ecpectations are 10-15 degrees lower that the outside temp. Again rather that a fixed temp out of the AC it is the difference of the input air to the conditioned air. I do not remember those numbers you may want to do a search on say AC output. I am sure others will chime in.

Check the tape on those registers and the AC Unit and the actual duct

20 degree drop is acceptable for warranty purposes. Color of roof and sides will affect temps.

X2. So will being in full sun or shade. Keep your shades closed and use a fan to move the air around.

We were in the Sacramento Valley last summer in HOT weather and found out that terrible truth. It was 105* outside and the ac struggled mightily. Just over 90* inside...

Good suggestions above. In practice, ideally the unit should drop 20 degrees. What size is your unit 13 or 15K? Good reason to park in the shade if you can. Also, might really want to consider a second AC unit. I know here in the deep south, its a no brainer to have a second unit given our heat and humidity.

I would love to add a second ac unit in the bedroom. Being a 30 amp service I know that it isn't possible unless I put a plug and run the unit off of the 20 amp shore power receptacle, or change over to 50 amp service. How hard is it to run wires through the ceiling and walls. How do I know if my roof can support a second unit in the bedroom where the vent is at.

Although I have a 50 amp rig and three air conditioners, I often run two air conditioners at the same time when I am camping at a 30 amp pedestal. There is nothing wrong with that, you just have to watch what else you are running.

I would not let your 30 amp rig stop you from installing a second air conditioner if you feel you need it.

The problem is your rig probably isn't provisioned for a second air conditioner so the effort to install one is more than usual.

The roof is made up of roof trusses and OSB (oriented strand board) throughout. The roof is the same where your vent is located as the area where your air conditioner is located. You can safely walk on your roof.
