I have the hardwired, 30 amp, progressive unit and a "magic" plug. They are not that hard to keep up with, I know exactly where it is and if it did ever wander off, you can disable the progressive unit with a switch on the remote display.

Yeah, that makes sense. I didn't think about simply not using the EMS with a generator.

On our hardwired units there is a bypass that can be used.

I have the necessary bonding plug so no big deal for me.

Wondered if it would come up on anti-theft.. this is how i do it..double locked on cord near plug in, then wrapped around the shore power pole and locked again

My 30 amp portable Surge Guard saved us twice last season. One the polarity was wrong and a faulty ground/neutral on the 2nd. FYI the campground thought it was ok to have some resistance between neutral and ground. They didn't fix it. I plugged into another pedestal that was within reach.
