new to forum & 2010 Hornet

Hello everyone...although I have had my new Hornet for almost a year I just located this forum. I like what I see...so here I am.

I live in the Tampa, FL area and I'm about two years away from retiring. I like Florida and Georgia State parks and go as often as I can. Fort Wilderness at WDW is good, too, just hard to get into....

Have not had any major issues with the Hornet yet...but if I do I see there is a lot of valuable information on this site.

Be safe.............

Hi there! Which Hornet model do you have and why did you choose a Hornet travel trailer over all of the others!? We are still shopping for a travel trailer to use for a seasonal camper in WI.

I have the 2010 Hornet, model/floorplan is 30RKDS.

This is a 30' bumper pull travel trailer that has a rear kitchen, double slide, booth dinette, sofa and two lounge chairs. The sodfa unfolds and has an inflattable queen size mattress in it.

The bathroom is an all in one bathroom and it seems to me you get more room in that configuration. The bedroom slide out is a closet and the bed is short queen that is a north-south bed. We have se=ince upgraded to a memory foam type mattress.

I wanted to downsize from my previous rig, which was a fifth wheel travel trailer. The wife and I liked this floor plan the most of any we'd seen. I also wanted to get the aluminum exterior, which is somewhat of a downgrade, because I have been having problems with fiberglass exteriors and the sun/heat here in Florida.

So far, this one has had no problems. I am in the process of having a building built to protect it from the elements....

I had looked at the Keystone fifth wheels years before when I was shopping for 5'ers, and I saw a lot of Keystone products that I liked. While I didn't purchase one then, I did this tiime around getting the Hornet.

I actually intended to purchase another Class A, but decided to wait to see what the economy does before I bite off into another one of those. I am two years away from being able to retire, so the Hornet seemed like a sensible choice for now.

Also, the price seemed attractive at the quality level that this Hornet is...not the cheapest or the best quality available, just in the middle somewhere.

At this point I can reccommend the Hornet.....

Good Luck on your search and be safe.
