Water shut off

Our brand new 2016 sprinter fifth wheel refrigerator water line is leaking. We need to know where the ice maker shut off valve is. Does anyone have any thoughts?

There are probably two water shutoff valves for the refrigerator. This is a "best guess" but one is probably under the kitchen sink, at the cold water line "T" that branches and goes back into the floor and the other is in the slide, either under, directly beside or behind the refrigerator.

The "theory" behind how it's constructed is this: There is a "flexible water line" that connects the "rigid water line in the slide" to the "rigid water line in the trailer basement". Those two 'rigid lines" are protected from freezing by being constructed inside the trailer. The "flexible water line" must be installed "outside the RV" and is subject to freezing. Because of this, there is a shutoff on each end of the exposed line AND a "low point drain" under the trailer in the line". When you winterize your RV, don't forget to turn both the valves to OFF and open the low point drain. There is a caution in the owner's manual that instructs you NOT to allow RV antifreeze to enter that line or the ice maker assembly as it will cause damage to the refrigerator.

So, check for a valve under your kitchen sink and also check for the second valve that will be inside the RV, somewhere near the refrigerator.

Good Luck

Although the poster says his water line is leaking and it could be. What about the drain line that many leave pushed into the unit and it drains water into the RV. Something to check.

If it’s a 1/4 turn valve, the most common, then looking at the handle if it’s pointed towards the “out” then the water will flow.

our shutoff for the ice maker is located behind a removable panel under the oven (beside the refrigerator)

On a separate note dealing with water shutoff. Someone on here (or another manufactures RV blog I was on ?) a while back mentioned that they always shutoff the water supply to the camper if they leave the CG for any reason.
In the event that ice maker water line or any other fitting is loose, you will find it upon your return and avoid major flooding of the trailer.
Just a habit I have gotten into. Also gives me a chance to do a lap around the trailer to check other (electric, sewer) connections and the campsite.
Not trying to derail a thread, but based on the forum title, I guess it fits?
