50 amp t0 30 amp

Can I use a 50amp to 30amp adaptor for my 30amp fifth wheel?
Are 30 amp campers wired with a circuit breaker so that it doesn't draw more?
I do use a 30 amp surge protector. Just want to make sure that if I have to use this adaptor I won't fry any thing in the camper

Yes. You can plug your 30 amp RV into a 50 amp RV outlet with the appropriate adaptor.

Your total draw will be limited by the 30 amp main breaker in your RV.

I bought the 50 to 30 dog bone after needing it at one campground. They let me borrow one, that time. Only used it probably 2 or 3 more times, but it gives you options. Maybe a particular 30amp recepticle is bad, you could use the 50. Maybe there isnt a 30 left, it was taken already, still could use the 50.
I also purchased the 30 to 15 dogbone. While at my other house for the summers, I didnt have a 30amp to plug in. But could use and extension cord and dogbone to plug into a regular receptical. Didnt need to run the air conditioner or microwave, but kept the batteries charged and turn the fridges on the day before to load up and go.

davvalh, Howdy;

I fulltime and have been plugged into a 50 for a year and a half now
using a "Dogbone" identical to the one linked above. I keep the seam
covered with Black electrical tape to keep out the moisture.

Sounds like a great "emergency" plan in case you have 30 amp and only 50 is available. Adding it to me list of things to get.
