Shower wand holder ...

Howdy All;

Finally I have something to remark about.
End of this coming April I will have had this 3 years,
I'm a pretty much a if it ain't broke it doesn't need futzin' with
kind of person. Well, the bracket that allows us to have the
shower-head above our knees was starting to pull away from
the wall to which it was secured. When I pulled it off I found that
there wasn't any kind of support behind that part of the surround.
I was going to jam a toothpick or 2 into the hole to give the screw
something to bite on. Well, that wasn't going to happen so, what
to do? I remembered I still had some of the butyl sealing material
that squidges out from the outside of our windows and helps stick
stuff to our roofs. So, I dug it out from it hiding place, used 3 overlapping
strips, relocated the holder to about an unmeasured 1/2 inch to the
right, used a small diameter drill to help the screws find their way into
the surround. After the screws were snugged down I used a sharp
object to trim off the excess. Very happy with the result, am confidant
that there will be no leakage into the void behind the surround and
there will be no mold growing into a science project where I can't see it.
