Slide out bottom seal ...

The bottom seal on my large sofa/fridge slide out is torn. It appears to be about 2.25in long total with the bottom portion being a somewhat rigid plastic to screw to frame and a soft rubber wiper at the upper portion. It is almost flat with a the very end of the wiper being a little wider. Anyone know which specific seal this is or even better something should upgrade it too?

I don't know the answer to your question - I had mine replaced at the dealer while doing other things. Look at the bottom of the slide; make sure there is not something either outside or inside that is snagging the seal and tearing it, as was my case.

Seals come in several “profiles” maybe you can match it here:

That seal wiper is under or attached to the slide guide . That same thing happened to my impact I cut it off very carefully. I'm using some seal that is at 90 degre i got from the dealer . It's been secured with screws and washers it keep dust bugs out.

Slide out bottom seal ...

The bottom seal on my slide is a co-extrusion (bottom leg and "D" shaped slide wear bar are plastic and the top leg is the rubber wipe): http://www.trekwood.com/products/446...-Black-12-1-2-

Over the years the rubber wipe progressively tore, so like roadglide, this season I cut off the rubber wipe and rounded the edge where the rubber was cut at. I then used a 1/16" thick by 2 1/4" wide strip of neoprene held by a 1/8" x 1" wide aluminum strip to recreate the rubber wipe. The wipe action is now not prone to tearing the neoprene wipe because it forms a larger bend and there is more clearance under the slide. But if it does tear again, it is easy to replace in the future.

Thanks everyone, it is starting to make some sense to me now. I will take a closer look at it to verify and ensure nothing is in there causing it to tear. I like the idea of a separate wiper.
