Scotts RV

We use Scott's RV toilet paper with no issues. It soft & comfy. Walmart carries it. I do not like the other brands - I find them a bit rough. Hubby does back flush the black tank until water runs clear every dump. We use the original blue Dawn to do dishes so the kitchen grey gets cleaned with no extra work. Interesting FYI, Union Pacific uses Dawn to clean locomotives because of its grease cutting abilities.

Dawn dishwashing detergent, appropriate black and grey tank chemical deodorizer/cleaners, lots (and lots) of water, and black tank flushes after each camping trip, go a long way to help keep the black and grey tanks clean, and their associated sensors working properly. On our 2011 Cougar, following this regimen, all four (two black and two grey) tanks do not smell (other than what is to be expected) and all sensors are accurate. I suspect the key to keeping the tanks clean is lots, and lots, of water.

We've had similar experience using the regular Costco/Kirkland house brand toilet paper. I'm also pretty meticulous about draining all tanks as soon as we get home from a trip, and I use both the built in black tank flush, and back flushing technique until everything runs clear. So far, all 3 gauges read empty when I'm done.
