Factory Installed Winegard Air 360 Missing Antenna Wires
Hi! We have a 2021 Passport 189rb that we purchased new a couple of years ago. We were finally able to purchase the Gateway gw-1000 router to install this Christmas. However, when we took the cover all we found zip tied to the top was the power cable. NO antenna cables! We looked as best as we could inside the ceiling with a flashlight and did not see any antenna wires. We've searched the Internet as to what we can do to install the gateway but everything expects those wires to be zip tied with the power cable. Any one have any suggestions as to how we should proceed? Is this a manufacturer defect? Should we take it back to the dealer?
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum
I would use a piece of wire with a hook on the end, like a coat hanger. If you have an air 360 antenna on the roof, the small wires may be in the ceiling

Thanks for the welcome and quick reply! I saw a thick blue wire in the ceilng but no antenna wires. I'll try the coat hangar and see if I have better luck..

That thick blue wire is what you need. You are not looking for coax, but something that looks like a network cable.

Gateway install
What you are looking for is what your photo shows. I used a scope cam and made bigger opening to locate mine. Your gateway will cover a larger opening if needed.

Inspection scope camera
You could purchase a cam on Amazon in the $30 range. A handy tool to have. I have used mine on multiple occasions.

I've had one trailer that the wires were installed perfectly then the next I got had the same problem as your picture shows. I was able to take down a speaker in the ceiling and used my cell phone to discover that they small connectors were probably 6" off/short.
My solution was to:
1. drill a new 1" hole in the ceiling where the actual wires were and mount the gateway there.
2. used the existing hole to mount the toggle on/off switch for the power.
(before doing this I made sure that when this was turned off it didn't affect lighting or anything)
In my previous install I didn't like the fact that the gateway was active when we were towing the vehicle as I did not install the switch. This is no longer a problem.
