Correct, just tie into that feed, don't cut it. Power to your clearance lights is shared with your camera. Therefore you must travel with your truck lights at least at the first parking light setting to get power to the camera.

Wouldn't it be easier to remove top light and use that wiring to camera, instead of branching in the middle of the wire? thanks for your response btw.

Either way, it's the same feed.
Camera ready simply means that they have provided access to switchable power for the dedicated purpose. Just like the forward side lights which are also probably "Camera Ready" same circuit....

As stated, use the running lights circuit. If you ever get a TMS [tire monitoring system] hook the repeater to the running lights also.

I connected my TPMS repeater directly to the battery, so it's operating all the time.
I wish my camera was powered the same way, when I wanted it, and not when I turn the exterior lights on. Just my opinion.

One significant consideration with connecting a TPMS or Rear View Camera directly to the battery, with an off/on switch or not, is battery consumption. There have been more than an isolated "dead battery the first morning of a boondocking trip"....
Direct wiring is "great and works well" until it doesn't.
As long as you're not "forgetful" or "get too busy and don't remember this one time"..... There's something to be said about using a source of power that doesn't rely on limited availability of battery power until the entire trailer "dies and goes dark".....
