Kentucky Raptor 300MP

Just purchased a 2012 Raptor 300MP and so far I'm impressed! Much better equipped than all my earlier RV's. I use a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD, with a Reese slider hitch to tow it. We have had smaller RV's in the past, but now that we are both retired, we wanted something that would be better for extended stays. Hoping this is what we are going to be happy with for a long time.

I was just going to post that too....seems like pin weight might be in the 2900+ range, most likely out of the 3/4 ton truck ability

Welcome and enjoy your RV. Retirement is great!

You may want to check total weight at a CAT scale.

Here is mine with a RV with an advertised pin weight of 1980# - "empty". CrossRoads Cruiser CF335SS

My truck weight is about 7900 lbs without passengers - full tank and hitch installed.

Weight was with 2 passengers - just re-fueled. Davis Truck stop in VA.
Steer Axle - 4900 lbs
Drive Axle - 6060 lbs
Truck GVWR 11,600 lbs

Trailer Axle - 9220 lbs
Trailer GVWR 12,380 lbs

Gross Weight - 20,180 lbs

Will be checking the CAT scale weight with our Avalanche too. Advertised pin weight is 2275#.

DA, what they are getting at is that the pin weight on that Raptor exceeds 2700 pounds empty. Your truck is only in the range of 2400 pounds of cargo. Add the 2700, 250 for fuel, 400 for you and momma, 200 for suitcases and you will end up being 1500 pounds or so over the gross allowable on the pickup. I know when you bought that pickup you thought it was a beast! In the real world 3/4 ton trucks are more along the lines of a bobcat! Nonetheless, welcome to the forum. Lots of good info here. You have a nice RV, we enjoy ours a lot!

Having a 2500HD diesel actually makes your situation a bit worse that a gasser. More accessory weight less overall payload, which is what you need to haul a Raptor.
