Is it possible to enlarge the corner shower?

My wife and I are purchasing a R3555 in the next few weeks. It's being built at this time. Now being a remodeling general contractor I want to know if there are any limitations/issues and if anyone has enlarged their shower. The R3555 comes with a corner shower with a round face. To the right of the shower is wasted empty space. enough to add an aftermarket off the shelf 4 piece shower kit. Or even use a large fiberglass shower pan and real wall tile. Has anyone tried to do this and if so how did it turn out?

I have done tile in mobile homes and it has worked out well. Without actual measurements and just looking at your floor-plan my concern would be clearance to the open doorway. It appears as if even 30" or 32" deep shower pan may not clear the door opening. I don't see any other problems with the change but I am curious how well tile will hold up with the flexing of a trailer. The flooring and wall panels were all installed before the encloser so the only holes are for drain and fixtures. Most 5ers have easy access to the drain from storage area so relocating that should not be a problem. The odd shape of the right-hand wall may complicate things too. Good luck .... maybe try it for a while before changing. If you do make the change take and post lots of photos. JM2˘, Hank

Thank you!

Great Tips on the tile and shower. I've got to do some planning. I'll keep you updated if we do anything.
