Rain Gutter Extensions
Does anyone use rain gutter extensions?
My rain gutter spouts just seem to dump water down the side of my trailer, leaving behind a trail of muck. I'd like them to drip off onto the ground.
Has anyone mod'ed their gutters or installed aftermarket extenders?

I tried the gutter extensions on my last rv they done a good lob of keeping the water away from the sides. I also put a clothes pin on the end of the extension and the water will run down the pin this takes it farther away from the side or your rv.

The after-market gutter extensions are a good investment. Coupled with clothes pins, they will do a pretty good job of directing water away from the trailer sides. If you can get the clip-on extensions that will be an easier install.

I bought some of the Camco clip on extensions at Wally World. I lost one somewhere along the way, so I went into a local RV dealer and bought some extensions that are a good bit longer. They were a little more difficult to install because removal of the original shorties are required, but they install with the original screw and a little sealant. They work very well.

The gutter extensions are only a few bucks and work well. Adding a clothespin will work as well.

I bought the same set and was wondering what "sealant" did you use?

Lenny -
When I was up on the EPDM roof checking for places that needed to be resealed, I just reached over the side and gave the attached edges of the rain gutter extensions a shot of Dicor sealant. It works great! And I already had it up on the roof with me!

Sorry lenny for the delayed reply, but I really do not recall what sealant I used. I'm sure it's something I bought at the RV store at the same time that was recommended.

It sounds like clothespins are the way to go...

I hate the hinges that we have. I saw some good ones on a Dutchmen trailer that wouldn't let any water through they look similar to the hinge on the emergency exit windows. Also I replaced my compartment seal with a thicker one a little bit tougher to close the door but doesn't leak when closed anymore

I bought the clip on Cameco. When I put them on I also added a tiny rivet in each one. So far they are still attached after 2 years and 7000KM.

I split a 4" pc of 3/4" pvc pipe and rounded one end and pop riveted it to the factory ones and it works great.
