Upgraded gray handle (joking). I went to dump the gray tank yesterday and the handle somehow fell off. I used a nut and some metal strap to temporarily pull it out. I need to figure out the length and purchase a new one.

Yesterday I finished putting "RV Design" H271's in the overhead cabinets. I found these little gems at CW and they work very well no more holding using my head for a prop.:banged: I will share the instructions that were given after I contacted manufacturer and asked for them.

Took some measurements behind the axles to see if I can mount an under the body alum truck toolbox there and how big it can be. Thinking about using it for power cord storage and possibly jack blocks.

It sounds like you're talking about installing it under the trailer, behind the axles. If that's so, then let all the air out of your tires when you do the measurements, otherwise, if you install it ""behind the axles" and have a blowout while towing, you're going to run the risk of ripping it out from under your trailer and if the box gets ripped off or breaks loose and rolls/tumbles under the trailer, even more damage...

Don't just plan for clearance on a "no problem setup". I think that's one of the reasons the first "under trailer spare tire racks" were installed on the forward edge, between the landing gear. That way, no matter the tire/axle status, the tow vehicle kept the trailer "in the air" so to speak.....

No it will be between the I-beam frame and the outside skirting, similar to the compartment used on the side of Fuzion toy haulers. Won't be any lower than steps when they are folded up.

Ahhh, good deal.... Our Holiday Rambler trailer had slide drawers in the skirting. They were mounted on slide rails and had two "flip locks" one at each end. Push in on the locks and pull the drawer out for access. The entire bottom of the HR was sealed with 0.030 aluminum, so nothing to blow into the drawers from road/tire splash.

I miss those drawers on every trailer since that one. Maybe someday, but for now, it's a "make do" situation. Keep us posted on how it goes, sounds like a good use of wasted space.

Posting some pics of the mods

We installed accordion door in bathroom which made it a lot easier to get into from bedroom. Divided pass through storage from the front storage with 1/2" plywood. And a couple pics of the overhead storage gas shock hinge H271's.

Hi,

Where did you purchase the door at and how much "fun" was it to install?

Thanks,
Lee

Lee,
I got it at Lowes. Its plastic and light. The install was not difficult at all I removed the original door and hardware. Since the accordion door was 80" residential height I had to cut it down some. Took the measurement and got my "chop" saw out and cut it.
The accordion door was made to be adjustable with regards to width, by sliding out the slats. The bottom of the door had "keepers" that were screwed to the bottom. Had to remove those to make the width adjustment I needed, then put the screws back in.
The mounting hardware was simply three pieces of plastic C channels and required a few screws to attach it to the bathroom entry frame a top and two sides. Really easy install. Maybe about an hour, I'm a measure twice and once more before I cut

Last four days at the RV park, we mounted a tv in the bedroom and drilled a hole for the propane hose in the outside kitchen, and filled the large gaps in the cargo area with the expanding foam. Also finished the battery relocate project to front cargo under the front cap.
The propane hose mod is best of the four because now I can leave the hose connected and close the outside kitchen door. Well watching tv in the bedroom is pretty cool too when the kids take over the living room tv at night.

Over the last two days I pulled the wheels off our LHS 177 Hideout and took them to Discount Tire. the OEM tires only had around 2000 miles on them but we are leaving in a few weeks on a trip and judging by what I have read on this forum the OEM tires are not very reliable. We now have Goodyear Endurance tires on our little trailer.

We get 60+ inches of rain, from late September until about the 4th of July. Though the two batteries and propane tanks have covers, they are not 100% watertight, and I also want to protect the metal tongue parts from rust. So this weekend I built a cover. It took most of two 4x8 sheets of black coroplast, about $20 each, some silicone and black duct tape, so a cheap project. After cutting the pieces, I temporarily taped them together on the outsides, then applied silicone to the seams inside. After it set up I then used the black duct tape on the outside of the seams, and just set it onto the front of the trailer.

Just changed the terminals (battery clamps) for my Renogy 100 W Solar Suitcase to a plug that fits the Furrion 2-pin Solar plug on the front of my rig. Took half an hour and now I'm "plug and play." Even hooked it up to make sure it was working, although it's January, here in Oregon, and raining, so I was only able to get about 0.1 A out of the Controller. Both Suitcase and Plug were purchased through Amazon. Another half an hour spent on reorganizing the front compartment so that I have all my power needs lockable in one spot - Generator with 5 gallon gas can, portable Propane bottles, battery compartment and Solar Suitcase. Everything has to fit just right and be blocked in so it doesn't shift.

I looked sideways at it, sitting in a snowbank, at - 28 F, snow in the trees and sun-dogs in the sky.

took my 18 320rs avalanche to the dealer for some minor warranty work and questions on Monday. had chip in shower stall floor and was to be repaired, had a noise on the front landing gear when extending and retracting. sounded like a machine gun being fired. they said they were replacing the front jacks. had gas regulator checked. gas appliances seemed a little too high in pressure or volume. hopefully get to pick up on Thursday

Went out and run both my Honda and my Onan gen for a while with new non-ethanol gas in them. Delivered my new Werner 17ft folding ladder Christmas present to the RV and locked it up in the garage.
