Goodbye Forest River, Hello Keystone!

Hey Everyone! Wife and I (and kiddos) have now had four RVs, ranging from an old craigslist special 5er that was beat down, to a tiny toy hauler to our 2016 Forest River Stealth to now..... a new 2018 Sprinter 3530FWDEN model!!! We really feel like this is gonna be the one and we take delivery of her Saturday!! The rear den is HUGE and hey, to relax and watch a game on that 55" TV... enough said.

My brother in law just got a Keystone rear den model (bumper pull) and I loved everything about it. Besides, we don't have any of our toys any longer (daughter is a travel volleyball player) so we sold them off and want comfort now.

From what I've read lurking on these forums is that people, in general, seem very happy with their Keystones!

Welcome to the forum and the Keystone family. Great 5er. We have enjoyed our 2018 Sprinter 334 FWFLS. It’s a front living room model but you are right, the 55” TV is great on days you can’t be outside. Oh, lurking is ok but do ask questions and get to know the folks here. Great group always willing to help with their combined wealth of knowledge. Enjoy your rig and the forum.

We did something similar

We did something similar only a different model. We dumped our new 2017 4 months old FR EVO TT and traded for a 2016 Keystone Cougar. Couldn't be happier.

We love the design of Keystone sprinter, we have rear lounge model and it is wonderful to sit in recliners. Large window makes it really nice.
I have a list of 'things' you may want to do. The bed being to first item to replace, we had to make lots of adjustments, but overall we like it.

We are taking delivery of a 2018 Keystone Cougar 30 RLI 5th wheel trailer next week, it will be replacing a 2015 Thor Hurricane 34E MH which I never should have bought.

Before that we had a Keystone Springdale 30 ft TT that I liked very much.

We traded in an FR 21FBRS for a Bullet Premier 26RBPR last month. So much room! Just the 2 of us but have room for entertaining and a bedroom with a real door! Added Roadmasters to the F150 TV today so we are ready to go!

I'm in also. Traded a FR Flagstaff 27 BEWS TT for a Laredo 350 FB. Love the 5er. DW said it best, "we've gone from camping to living".
Now the mission is to get the correct TV in front of this fifth wheel. A work in progress.
The TT was not a bad product. Had very few problems with it. Just felt it was time to upgrade.

Welcome.

We purchased a new 2017 FR Rockwood 2703WS in April of 2016. In January of this year, we found a used 2015 Keystone 333FWFLS less than 50 miles from us (private owner, we sold the FR on Craigslist).

We liked the FR and had only minor issues with it, but we love the front living Keystone. It’s our first 5er. It’s a little larger than we need, but it’s nice. So far, the quality looks pretty good.

Check your wheel bearings/brakes. The previous owner never touched them and I found the brakes on both right side wheels were full of grease and one bearing race was spinning on the axle on the left side. No wear or rust on the right side brake drums.

Not bashing Keystone, just telling you what I found. Keystone doesn’t make the axles.

I like the way it’s built.

Congrats and good luck.
