Thermostat on Springdale

So I’m having trouble with the thermostat in my camper was wondering if anyone else has had this happen or they wired it wrong from the factory. Just bought the camper a couple months ago an everythin seemed to be workin good until I tried to get the heater to come on just to test it out an nothing. Was checking fuses an everything I could think of but nothin worked till I pulled the panel off the thermostat and saw a little black tab on the right side next to it said “shunt must be in place” I pulled that thing off an the heater turned on along with the fan so I thought maybe I didn’t need that piece put the cover back on turned the heater off an to cool now the ac won’t work without that little tab

I don't understand why there are two #2 square drive mount screws, one almost on top of the other. While they may not be the cause of your problem, they certainly aren't "standard build". You say you just bought the trailer. Is it new (warranty) or is a "new to you" (no warranty) ???

If it's a new trailer, I'd call the dealer, make an appointment and haul it back. Whoever installed the thermostat did a terrible job and it needs to be fixed. Besides, that "shunt installed for A/C and removed for heat" issue isn't the way it's supposed to work.

In this case, yes warranty work for sure. At least you can use it while your waiting for your appointment. This should be a not to time heavy fix, so try to pin them down on how long. No real need to keep your trailer for days on end.

Don't get the one mounting screw on top of the other either. If that screw goes thru the pc board then it's ruined. I doubt that the t'stat board is a multi layer board but it's unacceptable for it to be mounted that way. This is another example of how important a thorough PDI is. Let us know how the dealer performs and what they find.
