Welcome to the forum neighbor. I can see from your post that you have already learned Rule #1 : Dealers don't always tell the truth. The V10 should do a great job towing that X-lite. We are looking forward to you sharing you experience and perhaps having some of your questions answered too. Good luck and travel safely, Hank

I used to have an 01 F250 with the V10. I surprised people all the time at how much power it had being a gas engine. I pulled a 26 ft travel trailer for years around the country, then switched to a Palomino 8801 truck camper with an 18 ft Integrity car hauler with my Wrangler Rock Crawler on it from Indiana to Moab,Utah and back.

I wore it out though and traded it for a 2012 Silverado with the Duramax.

Welcome and enjoy!!!

Charlie,

Welcome to the forum and to Keystone RVing. We look forward to hearing about your travels and about your new Cougar. Keep us posted on how things go and look to the forum for hints and help with your Cougar.

We just took delivery of our 2014 Cougar XLite 27RKS in July. It has a remote. The "brain" for the remote is mounted in the battery compartment along the front wall of the trailer. If you look in there, you should see a black circuit board about 7" x 9" with a couple of SANYO digital relays. If that's on your RV, the dealer needs to get you the hand held part of the remote system.
