Most dryers designed for RVs are ventless condensing dryers. The moisture goes into the same drain that the washer uses.

I don't believe that the majority of dryers are ventless. We don't use an RV washer/dryer. Way too small and DW isn't interested in doing laundry every other day. However, we only know one other couple in the park with a ventless dryer and they sold it as soon as possible. I believe that most units require a vent in the side of the RV. I will concede that I could be mistaken.

Dryer Vent
There are “combo” units that both wash and dry, Either way they both require a vent. Usually there is a sticker on the interior wall marking the “center” for drilling the hole.

Condensing dryers do not need a vent. They have been used in Europe for years and are starting to make their way here for residential use as well due to efficiency. Moist Humid Air is not introduced to the room. Personally I would let the first few models that are being introduced here sort out the issues before purchasing one.
Here is a nice little article on how they work.

Here is a small LG unit that is more RV sized

Rv dryers are available both vented & ventless. In my opinion I'd NEVER put a ventless in a rv, way too much moisture & the perfect recipe for mold & mildew.
Our last rv I added the combo w/d & it did a good job of cleaning, the drying part took forever & you'd best like to iron as EVERYTHING came out wrinkled.
Mine was not marked for a dryer vent, but using the suggestion of another rver I got a piece of foam board, taped it to the wall behind the dryer, slid the dryer into the foam which marked the vent, removed dryer, marked the wall & took a punch around the inside of the hole marked to make sure nothing was in the wall, cut 4" hole & installed vent. I thought by poking small holes in paneling worst case is I could cover it with a piece of Luna.

Guess I learned something new. Can’t say I’ve seen a ventless dryer in an RV yet.

I've installed two dryer vents in two different 5ers. Like the guy said, figure out where you want the 4" hole. I used a small finish nail to drive in a little bit around the circumference of the 4" to make sure you don't hit a stud. If you don't hit a stud, DRILL! Should be good to go. I wouldn't care for a ventless dryer.

Very few are happy with a ventless combo and there are thousands in RV s out there. Had a vented combo ~ small and each load takes about 2 hours. That would be 2nd choice. Separate washer/dryer is the only way to go if you have the room.
