Exclamation Broken freshwater tank straps

I hope this is the correct area for this type of post, I just purchased a 2011 raptor 300mp only to find it has broken straps that hold the fresh water tank up, my repair shop said there might be a recall on this item, can anyone give me any information on this or the proper place to look,, thank you

If you go to the Keystone website (www.keystonerv.com) they have a link to any recalls that they have issued. I can't remember any that have been sent out regarding broken straps on the FW tank.

I believe the raptors have fairly large FW tanks. I have read numerous posts on various forums regarding the issue you describe. Keystone uses flexible strapping material under the tanks that allows for expansion or sort of cradles the tanks. I have heard of these straps breaking or coming loose where they secure to the frame due to inadequate anchoring at the factory. Check out http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm and do a search there. Also try a search on this forum. You should find solutions there. If you are handy and have the ambition, you can fix it yourself. It will cost $$$ if you have a dealer do it. You won't likely get Keystone to step up to the plate as you warrranty is well over.
As long as your tank hasn't cracked, you should be able to make and install adequate tank supports.

Thanks for the info Steve, and festus2, unfortunately lots of water and insulation on bottom protector is saturated, so something is leaking, but it's all fixable, thanks again for info to both of you

I recall a previous post concerning straps/braces, think it was on an older Raptor. May want to do a search on this site. Raptors have a stated 110 gal FW capacity however some claim that includes the 12 Gallons in the HW tank? I do not recall any issues in that post with later model Raptors nor am I aware of any recalls.
