Glad I winterized!

After a remarkably nice January, we got our first snow last weekend, about a foot, then another 3-4” last night. On Wednesday we got down to 14F, so just to be safe I put an oil-filled electric heater in the trailer to bring it up to 40. I’m not sure I trust the pink stuff, though it’s supposed to be good to -50. Lots of icicles.

The pink stuff will freeze but does not expand when thawed. It turns a slushy consistency. We're putting it to the test this winter with wind chills below -40f just 2 weeks ago.

Same on our side of the state.
10" of snow one day then major temperature drop the next to -15 with wind chill down to -40, then up to 50 followed by 1/2" of freezing rain covering everything a few days later.

Yep bitter cold here in North Dakota. Question about the heater to keep temps above freezing in extreme temps while in storage. I've thought of doing that as well, but was concerned about the freeze/thaw cycle that would happen. Don't want any melted water getting into cracks and then re-freezing. Does anyone have experience with this?

If you've winterized it good then you just hope for the best. Knock on wood I've never had any issues over many years of cold winters here in Connecticut.

At those temps I doubt a little space heater is going to help out much but if you've got the ability to do that it can't hurt! [emoji106]

Actual temp is the thing to worry about. Wind chill is more about how cold it feels and how your body can deal with it.
