Here is a real simple website to get What Your Truck Can Tow just using the yellow sticker payload...

I could not read what size tires you have. Bigger wheels may mean less rubber and thereby less weight. Mine also came with skid plates which for me is extra weight of no value to me.

Just confirms that buyer beware.

Don't worry I doubt those skid plates weight that much, they are pretty thin.

You may also have a higher capacity front axle.

With the 20 inch wheels it lowers the payload capacity. You can change the wheels to 18's to increase the payload but you can't change the stupid sticker.

Slow,

Thanks for posting "Changing Gears Calculator", great help. I'm wondering if you made a small mistake on yours. Please let me know if I'm wrong! Where they ask for the trailer actual weight (GVW) it appears you put in the GVWR of our 23RB (6,800 lb) rather than the actual weight of your loaded TT "GVW". Let me know if I'm wrong.

Erik

Good catch Erik.

At the time I ran the numbers in the "Changing Gears Calculator", I did not have a loaded trailer weight. So I thought I would just use the GVWR to be conservative.

My scale numbers with the loaded trailer are presented in this post:
