Getting the anti-freeze through the pump also protects it. If you live in super deep freeze areas you may then want to disconnect the outflow side and run the pump a little to blow it clear.

I like to use air to clear my system and then run anti-freeze through the pump to the closest faucet. I plan on buying that adapter closer to winterizing time. You could also use a winterizing and anti-freeze pick up valve but Flojet makes things so convenient with the snap lock. You will still need a towel to mop up the dribbles.

Well, my check valve is working fine, so far, and I have to deal with only one valve and not three.
